Special Events
In addition to their regular meetings and outdoor activities, many packs
organize special events, held at various times of the year.
- Blue and Gold Banquets
- During the month of Scouting's anniversary, packs across the
country hold blue and gold banquets. In nearly all packs,
the banquet is a highlight of the program year.
- Cub Scout Derbies
- Cub Scout derbies—the pinewood derby, raingutter regatta,
and space derby—teach Cub Scouts craft skills, the rules
of fair play, and good sportsmanship.
- Service Projects
- Participating in service projects as a group is one of the ways
in which boys in Cub Scouting fulfill their promise "to help other
people."
- District and Council Activities
- Your local council or
district office may schedule activities in which all the packs
in your area are invited to participate.
